See it and approve it before you commit to bulk.

A sample is where fit, fabric, and construction get proven — or fixed — before a single unit of bulk production starts. We build from your tech pack or a rough reference, refine through fit rounds, and don't move to bulk until you've signed off.

What's included in sampling

Everything needed to prove a product before it goes to bulk.

Pattern making

A pattern drafted from your tech pack, sketch, or reference garment.

First prototype

A physical first build to confirm construction and overall silhouette.

Fabric & trim confirmation

Fabric, buttons, zippers, and hardware sourced and confirmed against your target.

Fit sample & revisions

Fit checked against your size spec, with revision rounds until it's right.

Pre-production (PP) sample

The final reference sample bulk production is measured against.

Rush sampling

Urgent turnarounds can be prioritized, including night-shift production when a deadline is tight.

Types of samples, and what each is for

Not every sample serves the same purpose — here's how they build on each other.

Sample typeTypical timeframeWhat it's for
Concept / blank sample3–5 business daysConfirming silhouette and construction direction
Fit sample5–10 business daysChecking measurements against your size spec
Revision sample3–5 business days per roundCorrecting fit or construction after feedback
Pre-production (PP) sample5–7 business daysFinal reference approved before bulk cutting begins
Sample cost and timing vary by product complexity and fabric — confirmed once we've reviewed your tech pack or reference.

Why sampling protects your bulk order

A mistake caught in a sample costs one garment. The same mistake in bulk costs your whole order.

Confirm fit before scale

Catch a sizing issue on one sample, not on 500 finished units.

Test fabric performance

See how the fabric drapes, wears, and holds up before committing to yardage.

Approve branding first

Check labels, tags, and packaging on a real garment before bulk branding runs.

A locked reference standard

Your approved PP sample becomes the benchmark our QC team inspects bulk against.

How sampling moves toward bulk

Five stages, ending only when you sign off.

01

Share your reference

Send a tech pack, sketch, or sample garment to work from.

02

Pattern & first sample

We draft the pattern and build a first physical sample.

03

Review & revise

You review fit and construction, we revise until it's right.

04

Approve PP sample

A final pre-production sample is confirmed as the bulk standard.

05

Move to bulk

Production starts only once you've signed off on the sample.

A sampling process that respects your time

Whether you need a careful revision cycle or a rushed turnaround before a deadline, one team stays with your product from first pattern to bulk sign-off.

Sampling & development — common questions

How many revision rounds are included?

Revisions continue until you're satisfied with fit and construction before moving to bulk — we don't cap this at a fixed number, though extensive redesign beyond normal fit correction may affect timeline and cost.

Do you charge for samples?

Sample cost depends on fabric, complexity, and quantity requested. We confirm an exact cost once we've reviewed your tech pack or reference — there's no fixed public price since every product is different.

Can sampling be expedited for a tight deadline?

Yes. Flag your deadline upfront and we can prioritize your sample, including running night shifts to protect the timeline.

What's the difference between a fit sample and a PP sample?

A fit sample checks measurements and construction, often through a few revision rounds. The pre-production (PP) sample is the final, fully approved version — it becomes the exact reference our QC team inspects your bulk order against.

Can I order sample pieces in multiple colors?

Yes, though additional colorways typically add to sample cost and timeline since each requires its own fabric and dye confirmation — let us know your color range upfront and we'll quote accordingly.
